The lost "Indika"

"Indika" the book : written by Megasthenese about India in 323 BC is still missing.

"Bharat" now India, we all feel pleased and proud to be modern, or either be a part of modernity. Atleast at some point of time, though not often.

"Bharat" way back in 323 BC, Chandragupta Maurya a visionary beating all odds of superlatives and adjectives ruled India with a structured and controlled supervision.

Few of historians envisage Chandragupta's territory as uneven quadrilateral,  such huge was his empire.

Sikander's lieutenant Celucus attacked India, fought bravely but lost to Chandragupta's efficient  and vibrant army.

As it usually happens, the victor and looser amicably come to an agreement. This time it happened to be two conspicuous agreement

First, Chandragupta to marry Helena, the daughter of Celucus.  Unprecedented! Ironically  yes. A greek marrying Indian.

Secondly, Megasthenese the ambassador of Celucus would visit India and stay in Magadh.

Megasthenese an elite scholar as most describe, had a philosophical consciousness. He was the author of the book called "Indika", which he wrote while his stay in India.

What we can gather from some historians and other sources Megasthenese defined India during that time into seven category.

He portrayed geo status, religion, rich cultural heritage, spiritual standard of indians, socio ecnomical status, vedic science, and life style.

Now original Indika not available.

But we have a responsibility to bring our Indian Civilization on global platform using modern technology. But by not defaming, slandering other civilization, rather bring the heritage facts about our own civilization.

To take the learning of " Indika" forward, endeavour is to explore other true sources. If you're reading me, and come across sources other than google or youtube (because everything about the book on these two platforms, not happen to be original in any form), please do share. Drop a comment here, and we'll reach out to you.

Thanks Kindly. Jai Hind!
